Hi my name is James Bob. I've been into Land rovers for a while. While I love all land rover 4x4's I really have my eyes set on the early Discoveries like 97-99. I don't much about these trucks other than they are know for being quite heavy duty 4x4's with extremely strong frames and like the best stock offroaders out there. I really would like some good advice. I do plan to take the truck to Moab and explore various places.

Thank you all!:)

Oh Lord - That is all true...With that said I love my 96 Disco & have fixed all those problems - well..not the poor fuel mileage :)

LOL! I had a 96 DI, beat that thing to death, kept on running, I actually tried to blow the engine so I could have an excuse to put something else in it. Dang thing just kept on going. Didn't change the oil for over 50K miles. Didn't leak any oil, it was kind of creepy.

ok will do Steven thanks:sombrero:

If you are not dead set on a Disco, check out some rangies too. We have our MORG (Monthly Off Road Gathering) the first Saturday of each month at Hollister OHV. Perhaps tag along some time. I am sure any of the members will let you test drive their rig so you can get a feel for what each offers.

Also, trust Cerrone's European in Redwood City. Tony and Frank are NCLR members and diehard rover enthusiasts. They will give you an honest opinion of anything before you buy it. Plus, they might even help you find what you want.

I live in Ripon so if you ever want to see/drive a lifted RRC, let me know.:smiley_drive:
