Justin or Mack or anyone: Wheel and Tire Questions on the LR3

Now that I own one of these toys I'm fully committed (Dale, thank you again for a seriously awesome rig - if you are in the market for any LR check out the RVR Barn) and I'm nearing end of tread life on the current set of tires. I really would like to know if it's possible to fit a set of 17s on an LR3 without spacers or a V6 brake swap? Perhaps with only spacers on the factory V8 brakes? I'll be removing the front frame horns and interior fender well shrouding regardless of which direction, there's a minor amount of rubbing at full compression as it sits.

In a perfect world, I would be running some dedicated ORV KM2s on 17" wheels once these ATs finish wearing out and put some solid long tread life all seasons on the factory 18" wheels. How plausible is this in my own mind? Do I have no choice but to break out the grinder? Do I have to call Lucky 8 LLC and tell them to take my money every day for a year before he'll sell me a 5 set of those 17s he had at Winter Romp? So many questions - so much excitement for the possibilities. :D

OEM 17's won't fit without v6 brakes. While I didn't check the front, I'm 99% sure that even with spacers they won't clear the front brakes. The rears only cleared with spacers AND grinding on the caliper.

If you want 17's, Justin's options are probably the only ones without swapping brakes.

How much life is on your brakes now? You could try to time it with a pad/rotor swap. Then it's only an extra couple hundred for the v6 brake carriers.
