i admit that its not spectacular and no one else will probably care, espcially knowing how no one else wants to hear how bright/smart/funny/advanced etc other peoples kids are but since i know how some folks here like to climb i thought it might be cool to see some pics of my kids on the rock. we didnt go on huge expedition, only about 10 minutes and 5 miles from my house but thats also pretty cool too. just up 1.1 miles from the bottom of big cottonwood canyon in SLC is a popular climbing spot that a friend of my wifes from work goes climbing at a few times a week and so we joined them for hot dogs and marshmellows over the fire :campfire: and a wee spot of climbing for the wee ones. my girls are 3 1/2 years old and the boy is 20 months. sydney went up about 12 feet and sabrina went up about 20 feet.:rappel: i hope these pics work, i will try to get some more up tomorrow.

That is just AWESOME!:rappel:

Amy and I have talked about incorporating a climbing wall into the house somewhere for our daughter. Both of us find climbing to be very interesting and exciting, we think it would be great for kids.

Well done, I hope they have fun with it!:jumping:

wow, that's freakin cool! I wish I had the resources around here, my son (18mon) loves climbing everything. He likes to jump too though...

Great pics! All those activities help to build your kids confidence in life and challenges and keeps them away from the TV... Good on you!:victory:

yeah thats not always a good thing :hehe: the really fearless one, sabrina, is just as likely to fall over waking down the hall as not and never looks where she is going or pays attention to what she is doing. she will go up and talk to anyone, anytime and if something catches her attention she will just wander off to go do what ever it is in her mind that needs doing. but sydney is like a little mountian goat she can be perched on top of a wobbly rock with her feet right next to each other and not even get tippy but she is very easily overloaded and very sensitive. i looked at rei online and the basics ie. harness, hardware, helmet etc, for the kids isnt too horribly expensive. so i guess we will just see how thier interest in it goes and put money where its needed as we have it. i think getting them out to see that nature isnt just what they see on dora the explorer is quite important. we'll see how they do with it this summer and maybe they can get to go to the climb and crawl next year!

As the father of a 2 1/2 yo girl, I love to hear about how smart, cute, etc. other kids are! I especially like to hear about the kids who are getting out with the parents and having an adventure.

Very cool!
