The truck was in a bad condition.
But price was good.
My idea was to take to pieces pick-up, then put together with a new parts.

The mileage was 250 000 km.
But the 4D56 is a good hardy engine, well known in Pajero I, II and e.t.c.

The final target was to build truck for expeditions.
Something like this:

I start to fix the mechanical works.
Firstly I changed all liquids.
Than I decide to change the belts with rollers, and found this:

I bought oil seals, and start to clean this dirt.
It takes a one day of a hard work.

I often use the Castrol luquids.

8.JPG9.JPG10.JPG

The next was suspension.
I often use Rancho shocks.
In this project I decide to use Rancho 5000 series.

3.JPG4.JPG

The bracing strut of shocks I make stronger.

Than I ordered the two bumpers for two whinсes.
But for two month of waiting I should ride my truck.
I done the in-between variant.
I collect the puzzle of front bumper, cut it.
Weld the tube.

Then I start a body works.

I want to stylize the truck as UH-1 Helicopter from 1-st Cava (Headhunters) Vietnam conflict.

Thats why I painted L200 to khaki, with black capote.

I build the truck for expedition.
That's why the truck shouild have at list 100 liters of fuel spare.
But how?
The tuning tanks installs to the spare tyre place.
It's not my way!
I rebuild the exhaust system.
IMG_6216.jpgIMG_6217.jpgIMG_6218.JPG

After this doings I get a free space for stock tank from L200.

IMG_6215.jpgIMG_6221.jpg

I cut a little capicity of tank, cause the rear shock does not allow me to put it there.

I had one just like that and took it on all kinds of crazy adventures. ARB pretty much makes everything you need for the L200. Front & Rear bumper. Side rails. Snorkel. Rear locker, and 140 liter fuel tank that replace the factory one. Here's a pic of mine in the middle of the Malaysian jungle.

Great truck!
But my opinion that 4D56 is a very weakly engine for this pickup.
But great that the fuel injection pump assembly is a fully mechanical.
:)
It's hard to find tuning parts to build the old L200 in Russia.
The ARB is very expencive.
