L322 front strut question

Just curious if someone can shed some light on the differences between the early struts and the late? Is the entire thing different, just the bag, just the strut body, or is it a change in damping or just the various versions of the adaptive suspension?

I know nothing about this, but was curious so I did a bit of digging. Apparently the 10-12 Supercharged RR’s came with this, they have wires coming from the top of the struts under the hood, so I doubt it could be “retrofitted”. Arnott uses the same part for 03-12 non supercharged L322’s, so nothing should be different dimensionally.

I’m guessing it just decreases the oil flow inside the strut body at either higher speeds or acceleration rates to deal with the 575 hp engine in a somewhat dated chassis.
