So a me and a friend decided to go on a nice little off road trip up in Idywilld and go to Lake Brittany. Lake Brittany is a very secluded lake near Idywilld about 6 or 7 miles from the nearest paved road. So we started out and everything was going well as you ca see from this picture.

So after about 2 miles or so and some very cool scenery we come to the entrance of the trail we need to take to get to the lake. At this point the trail got tougher but still not bad.

Still tracking along, went over some nice hills and saw some very nice creeks and crossed some nice rutts with some very nice inclines.

After a mile or so from the start of the trail we came to something we did not expect....

Man that was a giant rock followed by 2-3 foot deep bumps and holes, well we trekked on....

After about 45 minutes and 1/2 of a mile with nothing but stinking bumps and holes we turned back to see the view

So far its going well so we continue on for a mile or so and come to out first nice little gemstone.

We can see the way the trail goes and so we go on, jeez more bumps and holes. We have no idea why there are so many but we can tell they are clearly man made and we think by the forestry service to try and keep people out. I am not sure why someone would do this but it is from the same government agency that once made crayfish fishing banned on a small lake because in that lake they are "protected". I sure would like to kick the person that made all the holes and bumps. So continuing on we drive for another 45 minutes and still hills and bumps and they are getting worse. We make it about 3/4 of a mile to the lake and the trail has become so bad we have to stop and walk, its a tough uphill hike that we ran out of time to complete so for this time we need to give up. We turn back and make it back to the first pond where we were able to stop and have a nice little picnic there, here are a few pics right by the water.

Here is one of my awesome son who made the trek with me on the edge of the pond.

After our nice little picnic i stop to take another pic

and just about when we get to the paved road we find another little surprise.
I cant upload the picture but it was a group of some longhorn steers, very cool. All in all we didnt make it to lake Brittany but we had alot of fun and will attempt it again in a few weeks especially since I may of found a another way to the lake. Till next time keep on trekkin.
