Just fly to Perth, register it and start driving around the world. Then when you are done sell it back for the same price - or more.

Western Australia is perfect as you can renew the registration online (at least last time I checked) so there is no need for photoshop even if you are in the middle of the Congo...

I have been searching these in prep for our move to Oz next June and the more I drive my 1994 Troopie the more I want a turbo diesel pop top version.

God that's tempting. Been having some troubles getting our Syncro ready. Maybe we need to scrap that, buy this, and travel everywhere BUT the US. Maybe? Too bad there aren't more details.

you CAN travel in the US...
just buy it in Oz, register it there and travel around the US for 364 days then take it out of the US and bring it back in for another 364 days
