Ran across this on the local CL and thought someone here might be interested. No connection, yadda yadda.

Left hand drive ex-mod Defender, only with a difference. This truck has been given a new lease on life without taking away the old-world charm. Comes equipped with a very nice 2.5 N/A diesel motor that runs perfectly! The truck also has fully functioning 4-wheel drive, including a rare overdrive feature. This turns this capable 4x4 into a true mountain goat!!
Very clean inside and out with no noteworthy rust issues and just had a full respray of Anthracite grey plasti dip! truck is a real eye catcher!!

Comes with:
Badger Coach Works Top
Full Canvas and hoop stick set
Fully bed lined
New plasti dip inside and out
New windshield seal
Center cubby box
Kevlar reinforced tires ($300 per)
Left hand drive
Manual transmission
Diesel motor (very efficient)
Manual trans with hi/lo transfer box and overdrive for even better gearing!
Custom front grill
LED lights all around
Clasp and traditional tow hardware
Custom heavy duty rock sliders

This Defender is in Austin Texas U.S.A. with title and registration, not sitting in some English lot with a promise on "importability".

Call Chris to view, and several other defender s that are available.

just drives me crazy to see so many disreputable salesmen calling something a 'Defender' when it clearly isn't

What is it then? I'm curious.

Defenders were not introduced until 1990 so none of them are legal for import into the US (25 year rule). A 1981 coil sprung ex-MOD Land Rover with a 2.5 NA diesel is certainly a One-Ten

Ah man you are way too picky. It was simply a rename in 1990 to defender from Ninety/One Ten, not a significant product change.

Do you call pre 1995 Range Rover's "Classics"? They weren't Classics till the 95 model was introduced to separate them from the p38s. But everyone refers to 95 and earlier range rovers as classics.

But if 1981 is correct, it isn't even a One Ten. They didn't start till '83. So this could be a Stage One (the bridge between the Series III and the One Ten in '83) or just a Series III. But whatever it started as, it has a lot of later defender parts on it.
