2000 Land Rover Discovery Build Spec.

This 2000 Land Rover Discovery II has been an ongoing project of mine for 9 years. I have built and used this truck for back country travel and it has served me well. I never skimped on this truck when I did something I did it right. I have taken loving care of this truck and serviced it regularly. I used it for what its designed for and it has never left me stranded. In 2015 it made a flawless 21-day backcountry journey from northern Arizona through 6 states to just south of the Canadian border. This is just one of the many adventures this truck has effortlessly made. This is not "Mall Crawler" nor by any means is it a "Rock Crawler" it is a purpose built "Overland" vehicle that is very capable of taking you deep into the back country with style and finesse. At 9.5 k this Discovery is being sold for a fraction of what has been invested. I have decided it's time to sell this project and start a new build.

Engine: Land Rover 4.0 liter rebuilt at 150K. Heads where completely rebuilt and block deck resurfaced stage 2 Crower cam and crank sensor installed. During rebuild a new water pump, thermostat and radiator where also installed along with a new oil sensor and oil cooler lines. Oil changed every 3k miles.

Transmission & Transfer case: Center Differential lock "CDL" installed. T -Case and transmission serviced as per Land Rovers recommendations.

Brakes: EBC Slotted rotors with yellow stuff pads installed. New Master cylinder installed in past 30k. ABS Shuttle valve also replaced at time. All brakes lines are custom extended length stainless lines to accommodate lift and suspension travel. ABS sensors are new as of March 2016,

Electrical
: 150-amp alternator installed with a dual battery system. In rear of truck there is a large 1000 w Inverter capable of running 110v power tools as well as a blender for making Margaritas. Throughout the truck, you will find added 12 volt plugs for your electronics. As well as a dedicated plug in rear of truck for a refrigerator.

Suspension: All stock springs have been replaced with Old Man Emu HD springs. Old Man Emu Long Travel Nitro Charger shocks and steering dampener also installed. Front steering links and pan hard rod have been replaced with heavy duty Terrafirma parts. In the rear of the truck the Watts linkage has been replaced with a custom built Panhard rod this was done to correct suspension binding problems during articulation of the truck. (This custom work was done by Hard Notch customs of Vancouver)

Tires: BFG 255 85 R 16 BFG KM2 with less than 5k miles placed on truck August 2016

Exhaust: New Magnaflow catalytic converters installed in 2015 with all O2 sensors replaced at time. The stock muffler remains in place with the secondary silencer at the rear being deleted.

Bumpers: Front is an ARB. Rear is a Tactical Rovers with swing away capable of holding 2 Jerry cans.

Armor: Truck has rock sliders front and rear differentials have dif guards with integrated pinion guards. The front suspension is protected by a skid plate and at the rear of the truck the gas tank has been armored with Columbia Overland skid plate.

Lights: Headlights are an upgraded HID system, many of the bulbs on the truck have been upgraded where possible to new LED bulbs. Rear LED work light. Front Dual 90 watt 9-inch round LED lights. Roof rack has an 80 watt 20 inch led light bar. This truck is well lit you won't have any problems navigating the darkness.

Air intake: Safari snorkel installed with secondary air cleaner.

Gears: The stock differentials were replaced in 2014 with a set of 4:56 gears mated with Detroit True Trac limited slip differentials built by Great Basin Rovers. At that time the Drive lines were also upgraded and replaced with HD drive lines and serviceable U joints vs the stock Roto Flex style.

ACE System: This Discovery II is equipped with Land Rovers proprietary hydraulic torsioning system called ACE (Active Cornering Enhancement). This system in low range acts much like a disconnecting sway bar system allowing the suspension to drop out allowing greater travel and flex. In March of 2016 the system was flushed a new pump and filter where installed. This service done at a local Land Rover Shop, over 1k spent.

February 2016 PM service: All wheel bearings replaced. Front CV joints replaced. Power steering pump and all power steering lines replaced at a Local Land Rover Shop. Over 2k worth of service.

Roof Rack: Rhino Rack Pioneer tray with many accessories possibly included.

On board air: At the rear of the truck neatly tucked behind a panel you will find a Via Air 100% duty cycle pump that will effortlessly air up tires and even seat a broken tire bead.

I have done a lot of preventative maintenance this past winter with the plan to head to Moab in May. But I was offered a deal on my next Overland build that was too good to pass up so it is time for my beloved Landy to find herself a new home. I have many receipts for services done and parts purchased over the years.

Well That's the good and great about this truck. This truck is not a spotless show truck as stated above it is not a mall crawler she has been well loved and used for its purpose. With that said if it broke I fixed it correctly. She does have a few minor nicks scratches and one small dent consistent with a tree in Central Oregon that is missing some bark. The headliner is a tad saggy as with most Rovers of this era.

Yes, I know you can pick up a Discovery 2 for less than 5k but not this one and certainly not one that has been this well built and cared for. This Discovery is ready to take you on your next big adventure!

Please only contact me if you are seriously entertaining purchase of the vehicle
