You might consider the Jeniko mounts too.
I have been using them in my vehicle and several emergency vehicles as well. They perform very well and at a fraction of the cost.

I'm eyeing up that CFL-800 universal floor mount, cheap enough that if it needs "tweaking" it's still a value.

i have a universal mount jotto desk in my dodge ram. its very easy to adjust and make it comfortable to use no matter where you are sitting. only thing i would recomend no matter what type of mount you go with is to get a screen stabiliser so your laptop hinge doesnt get ruined as well as one for the pole for off-road use.

May sound dumb, but I'm working on an idea for a cheap laptop mount. At second-hand stores I always see those brackets for mounting TVs on walls like you see in motels, hospital rooms, etc. They're very similar to the commercially made laptop mounts and I think they could be converted to that use pretty easily. I picked one up for $5 the other day and converted it to mount on my Yakima cross-bar while in camp. The S-shaped tubing comes down and supports the platform at about waist height. I mounted my Coleman stove on it and it's awesome. Don't need to take up table space and it's out of the way of the kids. Just a thought.
