Hey Guys

I am going to do a last minute run of the Oriflamme Canyon truck trail tomorrow for some sight seeing and some picture taking.

Its an easy trail, stock rig could easily make it.

The trail head is located in Julian CA and dumps out into Borrego, or you can turn around and run the Rodriguez Truck Trail Back to Julian.

Its all super mild stuff, but i am itching to get out and take some pics and do some light wheeling.

We can meet at the Mobil in Ramona at: N33.03334 W116.88270 at 9am

Lemme know

Hi Kevin,

I ran that trail over a year ago.

I started out of Banner. Nice area. Pass a few mines along the way.

I took a right at the split and went all the way up to the locked gate toward the mtns. Right at the Pacific Crest Trail. Great views from up there.

Then I came down and wanted to make it to the S~2. There was a sign that said locked gate ahead. I had no idea if this was true, so I turned around and went out the way I went in near Banner.

I hope that trail to the S~2 is open. I want to try that one day. Let us know how you do!

I've also heard that the Anza Borrego Park has bought a ranch up near the sunrise highway and when they open it..........there should be a trail down to the desert floor from the mountain. Let's look into this.

I run it about once or twice a month on my bike. Usually at speeds higher then safe! :roost:

The ranch you are referring to is now a part of ABDSP & is along S-2. There will be limited access in the future, maybe later this year or next.
