Laurel Lakes Trail, Eastern Sierras, September 2010

My girlfriend and I took my Gen2 Montero up to Laurel Lakes in the eastern Sierra Nevada last September. The trail was beautiful. The trail gets snowed in when the snow starts to fall and thaws out again in July.

Very nice trip report! We attempted this trail on the 4th of July weekend and had to turn back due to snow. Did you try to fish the lakes?

Thanks--we didn't bring fishing gear but saw people giving it a shot. It is a beautiful trail though. I highly recommend it.

One of my favorite places to be...we were there this past July but couldn't drive back to the lake due to a good sized snow drift covering the road. we did end up hiking down to the lake for some fishing, great pics and video. Hope to go back next year!

We're heading up in late Nov and are hopeful the trail up there won't be snowed under for the season.

We went up there Labor Day and it was my first time- loved it and tried to fish too.
The most amusing thing was a Porsche Cayenne blasting past us at the sign, Mr Cool, and then quitting and turning around going up a few of the rocky parts. He made it a few 100 yds.
If he saw the Mazda Tribute at the top, I think he would have cried.

I like your video, makes me want to start recording trips!
