Been away for a while... unfortunately not any real grand adventures, just work to pay for the toys :D

A few updates:

AMP Research folding steps
35 x 12.5 R15 Cooper STT tires
Banks Monster Muffler

And this weekend she's getting the ARB swing out tire carrier. 2 weeks from now I'll have the front bumper sand-blasted and re-coated to colour-match the rear, and begin fabricating some skid plates to protect the swing-arms on my fancy steps :D

After that I've gotta decide between some pretty major options...

* Dana 60's front and rear, regeared, selectable lockers

* Custom roof rack with Maggiolina roof tent

* Nth Degree Suspension

That seems to be the best order of operations so far...

Welcome on board......great forum to be on!

By chance, do you post on OT as well? I'm pretty sure I've seen that Jeep before on there

EDIT: NM, I checked out your page and saw the Sony Ericsson challenge you did. Saw that on OT and that looked like a blast! That and when you were driving around whichever city was flooding and you killed a Libby ;)

Yup! Used to be quite active on OT until they locked out the main forum to subscription only... then decided to get a life! :D

Good stuff - give me a shout when you do.

Would love to see an Earth Roamer JK out here :D

Nice Jeep...I was once the owner of a 2001 Sahara and loved it.

Saw you're thinking of getting some Nitto Mud Grapplers. I had those on my H2 and was so impressed with them that they are being put on my 2008 JK this month. :D

BTW...I'm up in Fallujah...been here since June 5, 2007 and have about 11 more months to go before heading back to the U.S. While I haven't gotten to do much wheeling over here, I did get to recover an armored HMMWV out of a HUGE ditch...not an easy task, but I got it done. I also got an armored HMMWV out of some real nasty mud...that was more fun. :)

Keep us updated on your future mods. What sort of work do you do?

I design in-car entertainment systems for Lexus & Toyota in the middle east.

Was looking at the Nitto's for a long time but the local agency seems to have their head in the sand... they've just launched the brand and wanted to use my rig in motorshows etc. so I said okay, cut me a deal.

Their "deal" was $380 a piece for 38" tires. Not worth the inconvenience of loaning my vehicle out for the motorshow!

And then they wouldn't even bring in the size I wanted and were pushing their 18" rim size on me... even though they only had 4 in stock and I was very clear that I needed 5, and 6 if it was a size they weren't going to stock...

I may look at the Nittos again in the future, but I'll import them myself probably.

In contrast my Coopers, while a couple inches smaller, were only $200 a tire, standard price, and easily available in the UAE.
