LED Work Light from Adventure Trailer

Just thought I would start this thread on the light I got from Martyn and the guys at Adventure Trailer. I am going to use it as a camp/work light, as I already have enough lights mounted on my truck...

I am using the light this weekend, so I quickly machined an aluminum handle, and added 30 feet of wire for the power. I will have pictures of actual usage tonight when it gets dark, but in my "shop testing" its pretty darn bright. I am happy with it thus far, and the biggest selling point for me was amperage draw (or lack of it).

I want to come up with some sort of retractable chord device, but have figured out yet, nor do I have the time to do it before the weekend.

Any one else used theirs yet??

Haven't used mine yet. I did something similar except my cable has a cigarette lighter adapter on it and instead of a handle I got a flat magnet from Grainger for $5. I hope to just stick it to the vehicle wherever I need it. Sorry no pictures but it was super simple to do.

Can't wait to try it out but I got work I want to finish on the truck first.

I have mine attached to the back rack on my DC Taco. Its set up to be easy to swivel around so I can use it as a extra backup light/ area light or a light for the bed so I can see what I'm doing in there at night. It's switched at the light and in the cab.

It is very bright, but I noticed that as an additional backup light it does not outshine or add much to the standard backups, at least on my street with a nearby street lamp. Maybe in the total dark it will be of some help. It will mostly get used as my bed light, replacing the dome light I would have had in my fj60.

I have been contemplating a handle for it as well. I'd love to see what you came up with.

I mounted mine rearward-facing on my roof rack. They help with reversing and camp setup after dark. Switched in the cab.

Not as bright as the halogen fog lamps they replaced; however, a lot less power draw and the light is higher quality, and more evenly distributed.

Interesting question.

Looking at the charts I'd have to think it was in the 6400K region.

It's an interesting light stark white, while at the same time pleasant to the eye. You can look directly at it without get blinded or it making your eyes hurt. But at the same time it's bright enough to do detailed work by.

Anyone else who has used one please chime in and give your own opinion.
