Good day Forum Friends.
I stumbled upon this site when reading about Frederik and Josephine's Congo adventure and then thought of posting this video.
I worked in Europe, and about 75% of that time in the UK, as a Truck driver. Weekends was for adventure and mountaineering. So I met Dave at the climbing shop in Lancaster. So back in SA now for many years, We invited Dave for a holiday and he decided to bring his camera kit along, the rest is history.
In order to give the film the purpose he invisaged, a lot of our travels were not included and neither do one see the family! In fairness, one vehicle with Grandma and the kids sometimes followed routes around the deep river crossings and technical passes.
Non the less, he provided a perspective that I am very happy about. Also underlining that Lesotho is about a lot more than just Sani Pass, which is fairly mundane compared to what Lesotho really has on offer. Lesotho is developing at a crazy pace, and I do not think this very fast development is managed correctly on a social level nor is society properly integrated with this development - you can't resist development, but one needs to manage it. Also have a close look, once the roads are tarred, the traditional huts makes way for brick & zink structures, changing the face of Lesotho on a very visible way.
Glad you enjoy it, but in reality Dave is the man you need to thank / compliment:
