Lets talk lockers for an Expo XJ

Thanks for the wealth of info guys. I should have included more info about the drivetrain configuration.

D30 up front, 8.25" in the rear and a 231 transfer case. I also don't plan on changing this set-up or the gearing.

I'm a pretty proficient shade tree mechanic but I've never messed with gearing and such. How many of you did the installs yourself?

You have decent axles with the minor lift and tires projected. I would use a Lock Rite in the rear (or your preferred lunch box locker) super easy to install and cheap. I would also do the rear first. For the front I'd go with a selectable locker, I love the OX. I prefer the mechanical engagement over the pneumatic. I would leave the front alone if your not up to spending the money on the selectable right away. XJ's are tanks, three wheels turning will probably suffice.
