My Alaskan is just the opposite Driller. The top portion looks "Factory Fresh" with only one trouble/rot area near the lower, side window on the drivers side. It almost looks like condensation has ran down the Aluminum window frame for 40+ years causing the rot. Regardless, it was cured today! Tomorrow, the passenger side to match.
Now, the bottom of my camper was a different story..... Kind of looked like wet corrugated cardboard after pulling it out the back of a 1970 Chevy K20 after all of those years in Baja.
I have documented all of the major steps of the retrofit./repair, but need to find the time to them on ExPo in some sort of organized fashion. It would be awesome to see your repairs as a build. There really isn't much out on the web for restoration/repairs to Alaskan Campers considering how many were made.
Good Luck with your camper and shoulder recovery. No worries on the Alaskan, it's been around for many years.... A few more weeks waiting for you to get healthy, isn't much to ask.

PS: Now returning this post to is normally scheduled winch & bumper talk.... Sorry for the derailment. :sombrero:
