LIFT PUMP

Had to replace our lift pump hand primer on our FG649 2003 last week after coming back from western a Qld trip.

Our truck is fitted with Zexel lift pump which is a part of Bosch .

Oe lift pump primer was $135.00 (part no. ME738105 ) but you can replace it with a Bosch 2447010038 or 2447222126 same part, which was only $30.00.
The Bosch came with a new copper washer but the genuine pump you need to buy a o'ring extra.
So for $30.00 it worth keeping a spare one in the tool box.

Why aren't I surprised by this? The price for genuine Fuso parts is bordering on criminal.
I recently replaced the breathers in the gearbox and transfer case with push lock fittings, which cost me about $10 each. The genuine ones, which are basically a rubber grommet and a bent piece of pipe, cost $115, which is just ridiculous.

I have been selling spare parts for over 25 years now and there is still no rime or reason on a lot of spare parts prices.
