Lifting the hood for cooling

I did the aux fan override switch and that brings my temps down fast on long climbs in 4x4. If my temps get on the high side I just hit the switch and they come right down, I would think this would also clear some hot air from in the engine bay maybe. I also have a trans cooler but not on the radiator face but off to the side.

I've seen a few similar to the S2000 example you've shown. The above link is to one of the first (of that type) XJ vent cuts I have seen documented. There are quite a few others that have taken inspiration for their own projects cropping up. I like the idea, lots of possibilities for shapes and placement.

Cool, I like the door trim stuff he used I was also thinking of using some to make it look cleaner.

Hmm, never thought of that. I'd put it out of my mind because I think it is too "blingtastic" on an S2000. I'd do it on a Jeep though. In fact I really like that...

I agree I would never do that to an S2000. My jeep is a different story. :sombrero:

I will probably just cut out those triangles that are already there near the windshield.

FYI, Hyline Offroad is making a XJ hood insert with vents in it to keep temps down. This is a new product still being developed. If you can wait a little bit, it will be worth while! Check their site for the TJ version.
