I have one camping trip left before I have to pack it up for the football season. I have a lot of plans for the new trailer. First things first Ive named it the "Lil Sport" after My TJ sport. I am not very knowledgable when it comes to these type of things but I would like to learn. I am going to post up my planned modifications and see what suggestions i can get from you all.
1. New rims/tires
My jeep tj has 33 inch tires on it and the trailer has 31s. It sits prefectly level and looks good so no changes there. My question is this, id like to match the rims up to my jeep and put "better tires" on the trailer. How do I go about doing this?? Is it as simple as matching up the lugnuts? pattern? Im not sure. I want to save some money and ive found different rims on craigslist and im not sure if they are the right ones. Below is a picture of the tires/rims i have on there now. Any ideas?
2. Trailer Lid. I am debating whether or not to just take this to a metal fabricartor and have them make me a lid or just building one outta wood for half the price. I have no welding skills sooooooo not sure on this one. Anyone fab up lids on here??
3. Fenders. Id like to find some fenders that look like they belong on the trailer not something just htrown on there. I was thinkign of purchasing the same fenders as my jeep (bushwhackers) but they are too expensive nad wouldnt give full coverage. Any suggestions here?
4. Paint-Again im debating doingthis myself and getting it done proffesionally. There isnt a ton of body work that needs to be done , just some surface rust......... bondo? and sand? How can I match up the paint to my jeep? Want it to be exact. Do all of you paint with a rattle can? Primer? Any suggestions? Im going to rhinoline the bed itself.
5. Jacks-I am going to mount jacks to the underside of the trialer or directly to the side. Are there any mods you can do to these jacks without welding to make them longer? I also am going to replace the tounge jack in the front of the trailer cause i dont think itll hold when my fat *** is in the trailer
6. Electric, I wont be doing much primitive stuff but more campsite camping. Where do I start for the electric? Im going to need some music and an ac (daughter)
thanks for any help
