A few must do's along the Cabot Trail...

Being from Eastern Canada (New Brunswick) I'm a bit biassed but it's a beautiful place. The Cabot Trail is nothing short of spectacular especially in late September and early October when the fall colors come into their own.

Probably a bit late for this trip but for future reference, these are two must do experiences in Baddeck:

1-Seafood chowder at the Bell Buoy restorant. One of the best I have ever had.

2-Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site. The man was a genious and his work influenced many areas outside of the telephone.

Enjoy the balance of your trip!

Wow, Ken went and commercialized his property. James, when i last camped there it was all grass with only a few picnic tables and a flagpole out by the point. Beach looks the same.

Just realized it was 93 the last time i visited..

For those who have been...

I am trying to plan my summer trip, but not wanting to make a bunch of reservations at campgrounds.

There appears to no primitive (dispersed) camping. I found a law for that so RVers didn't camp everywhere and everywhere....

Were most of the Providence Parks full? Could we just travel and stop and find a site?

Our favorite trips have always just been drive till we find somewhere we want to spend more time, but would hate not finding a place to sleep.

TIA

So long as you avoid Canadian long weekends you'll be fine. The Provincial and National Park's like Cape Breton have tons of spots. There are a lot of private camp grounds as well, like the one in meat cove. It's a beaut!
