I have a 14.5’ inflatable hard transom boat (Star inflatable) that I have had for several years, it is pretty high quality with 2000 denier PVC tubes and 4000denier self bailing floor but it is large, even when deflated, weighs about 160# and I can’t lift it or transport it easily anymore due to the size and weight. Launch wheels wouldn’t help because most places I want to launch from I have to get to the water before inflating. I also have an older Sea Eagle Sailcat which has decent fabric but is difficult and time consuming to set up by myself. So I bought an Intex Mariner inflatable boat which was only about $200 and has a motor mount. Size is almost perfect (I think 10’8” by about 5’ outer dimensions with 18“ tubes). I like the size, design and weight but not the fabric which is really lightweight and poor quality and the motor mount won’t safely hold my 3.5hp 4 stroke outboard, it does fine with an electric motor though. Because I like it a lot otherwise I have tried to find a similar size and design inflatable with better materials without much success. Avon used to make a Hypalon inflatable called a Redshank that looks good but apparently no longer manufactured. Sea Eagle motor mount boat looks like it would not be much of an improvement over the Intex, it doesn’t appear to have the same material as the Sailcat (I would be interested in any input from anyone who has one though). I was wondering if anyone knows of a higher quality motor mount inflatable similar in size to the Intex Mariner. I don't want a hard transom with tubes extending behind the transom, I would prefer a raft type like the Intex.
