Wow no one replied, I wish you were in Houston! I would be intrigued to help depending on what the plan is.

that project is long done and ready. We built a plug and play ECU that was tuneable and could run a turbo / sc and mivec + vics

So where is this ECU? Price? Availability? I was thinking of turbo charging the Montero in the well now distant future, but I wouldn't mind a tunable ECU

ECU is made to order, what year truck and fed / cal? Generally under 700 but this depends on the truck and plug header config and if there is core ecu

I'll have to double check but I'm almost certain my truck is not Cal, is a 1999 Montero, I'll save your info.

I think interest on this topic is low because the work and cost to go turbo is high, and Mitsubishi made the trucks do their job fine without it. Sure I’d love to have more power, but my time and money is spent on maintenance and improvements in other areas. I know that a company in Australia has a complete kit to go turbo, but if I recall it was like $7-8k. Unless you are building a competition throwback Montero for rallying, the interest just isn’t there. You don’t need turbo on the Rubicon but you might like it in the Baja!

There is more to it than that. Stock ECU from 97-00 does not have knock control, electric fan control. For those who need a motor this allows them to put in a 3.8 Non mivec or 3.8 Mivec motor and tune the truck. It has the ability to run a boosted motor too which is a plus.
