low volume transmitting with cobra 25?

just got done installing a cobra 25 in the tahoe today. called one of my buddies to see how it sounded. he said i was coming very clear but at a low volume. it was quiet on his end. he said i was completely understandable but at a very low volume. recieving sounds great. very loud and very clear. distance was about a 1/2 mile almost line of sight (a few trees) any ideas?

my set up; cobra 25, 18' of firestick fire ring coax, 4' firestick, ss spring and mount. antenna is mounted above pass. side tailight. 2000 chevy tahoe NBS. thanks

Cobra 25 has the dynamike with adjustable gain, I believe. Did you turn it up? It's the center knob.

i want to say that i turned up the dynamike, but i can't remember for sure.

will the dynamike help the volume?
