LR3 secure storage

I've been trying to think of ways to secure our laptops and camera's in preparation for our trip to mexico. Since nothing locked is "secure" I think the best choice is out of site. Found a great solution for the laptops.
Now you see it:

Now you don't:

It's a good place for hiding smaller stuff. Pelican makes a hard case that isn't bulky for dust, dirt and water protection for your laptop.

I wouldn't store it there while driving, but after, looks ok. I used the side compartments on the left rear. It's quite large. Also, those rear seats are pretty easy to remove, and you could just build a platform with lockable trap door access, that the cargo mat conceals..

Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I plan to put the laptop in a padded case in case
it gets bounced around in there. I have a D-SLR camera so that's the problem, finding a hiding spot for it (in padded case). I'll have to see if I can stuff it in that side compartment but I doubt it. Since we are basing out of a house in Sayulita once we get there it's not long term storage, just when we make day/weekend trips.
Thanks again.

Why not add a bolt in Safe somewhere? That's the ultimate in security as they'd basically have to steal the entire car to get the contents.
