LR4 Runningboards

I scored a 2015 LR4 HSE dEEEE Lux HD with 37K miles. yay for me. Was planning on taking off the running boards but they look to be surprisingly sturdy . Are they at all effective as sliders?

Almost any running board can be used as a slider... just a one time use tho...

All seriousness, I wouldn't recommend it only going to lead to future headaches

Thanks. I prob wouldn't try using actual sliders for sliders even. I expected to see reinforced plastic underneath and was pleasantly surprised to see quite a bit of steel.

They will not work as sliders more than once or twice. But, they’ll keep the hard stuff off your actual vehicle vice taking a dent or ding.

I have mine on until I find a proper slider to replace it with.

I treat them as I’d treat motorcycle frame sliders; act as an initial impact point to lesson the blow/damage. But, designed to be a disposable part if it saves the vehicle.
