LT77 intermittent clutch slippage after slave cylinder replacement

The clutch pedal in my 110 with LT77 went stiff one morning last week without any warning signs, I replaced the slave cylinder then went through the joy of bleeding with a poorly fitting bleed screw (Is it typical to seal threads on these with something?) Everything seemed fine but pulling away in first is less torquey and occasionally there is some intermittent slippage, typically in 4th going uphill. It happened on one hill today but didn't repeat on others. I've checked pedal adjustment for freeplay that looks good. Any ideas? Time for a new clutch?
