Lubrication update! Eneos is the shizzle

many of you have heard me endorse the supratech line of lubricants available at wal mart.
and i dont have any reason to change my opinion there.
however being saturday, and being that we are working 6/12's, and being its hot, i bough oil at napa as i have to buy my filters there anyway and it would save me a trip to wal mart .

i bough Eneos oil 5w-30. $39.00 retail

i have used the eneos spIII in my transmission for a long while now and it has been better than good; holding color, odor and condition through a year of very hard driving.

did the change.
the eneos oil is superb. so much so that I'm kind of at a loss for words.
here are my observations.
i used the full synthetic- the only oil eneos markets through napa.
got the change done and started her up to check final dipstick levels after run in.

no valve train noise
no noise from dist. gear.
no noises from the crankcase
perfectly silent and smooth.
like a new engine. like a modern new engine.

my old 3.0 mitsu is a clanker and the engines of that generation are prone to being noisy when doing their thing. this engine runs as quiet as a new honda.

remarkable change. really pleased.
rev up is smoother
rev down is smoother.
can even hear the difference at the tailpipe.

Very glad you posted this. My 3.8L has some clicking on startup\warmup that goes away, so I wouldn't mind reducing or eliminating it. I ran Amsoil for the last 8000 miles and it helped but not completely. I will run a round of Eneos and see what happens.

Toasty

Looking for that thing i just had in my hand...
Eneos is pretty great, so is Idemitsu they sell at Napa which is exactly Mitsubishi oil. Japanese cars use Japanese oil, simple enough. We need more posts like this, Thanks 'round n, back again
