I did weight the trailer at the scales today since it is packed and ready to go to Asheville. It came in with a porky 3120lbs. I must add that I have 40 gallons of water, 10 gallons of gas, 1 klx250, 2 bikes, and all the gear but clothes and a cooler. I knew I was getting close to the jeeps towing capacity! No more additions for me:).

This is the advise I followed on a Steel Soldiers Tread:
"Just put a pair of Rancho RS5006 shocks on my M101a2....the shock rubber bushing comes with 1/2" diameter center bore....used a 3/4" Lennox hole-saw to enlarge the bore to fit over the trailer shock mounting stud....couple squirts of silicon on the studs and they went right on....a big difference in the ride of the trailer....hope that helps you out...."

They worked great for me!

Ahh, yes. I've also read about that technique on either Steel Soldiers or Ih8tmud.com. Thanks for the reply though!

From what I have read it does.
The lower shock mount is in the same location A2, A3

On m101a3 the shock mounts where welded to the lower spring mounts

I don't have access to my M101 at the moment, just to clarify, the lower spring mount is a bolt on piece and the shock mount is welded to it? I am going to be replacing my axle with a Dexter and I am trying to determine if I will need to weld on new shock mounts or can I re-use the hardware from the original axle.

Thanks.

You can weld on shock mounts higher on the axle tube to keep them out of the rocks.
