M2 106s

So, tell me about the Freightliner M2 106s. I found a 2012 with the 6.7. It's a crew cab, flatbed, 4x4.

Who makes the 4x4 conversion?

Are the 6.7s dogs compared to the 8.3? I've had two Rams with the 6.7.

Are they fairly simple to lift if I wanted larger wheels and tires?

Do they require a commercial license if not converted to an RV?

My plan is to keep a truck with a flatbed and removable box camper so I can use it as both a truck and an RV.

Thanks,

Nick

i don't think you need a cdl under 26,000 gvw. Could be entirely wrong there, but it seems to ring a bell. I work at a Freightliner dealership. I don't think you would find the 6.7 under powered but I feel inclined to point out that engine has little in common hp wise with the engine in your ram. Its likely somewhere in the realm of 300 hp. Also the front axle and transfer case were able to be ordered and built by Freightliner as a 4x4 - 6x6 so possibly not a conversion. The units I've seen are all on their way to Fire Engine body builders and have components made by Meritor, meaning the axle and the transfer case.
