M416 upper shock mounts

Hello.... After adding my RTT to my Bantam, it sways quite a bit because the suspension on there is original and is sagging bad so I'm going to replace both leaf springs, u bolts, the shackles, the bushings, and the eye bolts and while I'm at it, will also get u bolt plates that have the shock mounts on it already.... Now, as I don't have a welder, I would need to find upper shock mounts that are bolt on... I've heard the m416s shock mounts will fit in the frame and can be bolted on.... I've looked for places that sell them and I can't seem to find them (g503, rfjp, DandL)

Any leads?

sway

Sway is caused mainly by tires. bounce is caused by shocks. short tongue also can cause sway at speeds. Load 20% forward of the axle. Do your springs still have an arc loaded with the tent, Sway also can be unbalanced load. How high is your tent mounted? lets see pics. just take the tent off and try it again for sway. IMO your tent is to high just FYI

Yes, lowering the tent is in the plans.... Checked the springs today and the drivers side has negative arch while the passenger side has just positive to flat arch.... Yep... They're done... Looking at it from behind, you can see a pronounced lean even with all the weight evenly distributed....

It seems as if I can find everything to replace the entire suspension for about 250 dollars, not including the shocks and shock mounts.... I did find an ambiguous mention on Mullins brothers Jeep website but I'm not sure if that's what I'm needing

If you cannot find any pre-made upper shock mounts, you can purchase a drawing of the mount from this site for only $2, then fabricate them yourself (or have them fabricated):

"Willys MBT Shock Absorber Bracket on the frame - MBT-sh_b.pdf"

Note: the price on the website hasn't been changed since 2009, the drawing may cost a bit more now.

Robert... thanks for the information.... these pics below are exactly what I need... unfortunately i dont know how to fabricate nor do I know of anyone nearby who can do it..... I tried to contact Mullins but without any luck to see if their shock absorber mount WO A-6986 is similar

I just had a thought as I often see these things at TSC or at Northern Tool.... would it work if i was able to find "stake pockets" as i see some of them are 11 gauge (1/8) and bolt these on and put a Bolt through the middle... would that be strong enough

Look on kaiser willys auto supply under the u-bolts and shock plates section. They have some mounts that may work.
