M416 width at wheels

Hey there. First post, please forgive any newbie missteps.

So I recently located a m416 trailer that I plan to build out. First things first, I have to go pick it up on Wednesday. It is a lengthy drive so I would like to haul it home on my trusty 5x10 trailer but I am not 100% certain it will fit, width wise.

I have reviewed the m416 schematics and see that fender to fender is 60.5 inches. The trailer I plan to haul with is precisely 60.125 inches rail to rail, so a bit narrow. However, I am guessing the tires on the m416 sit slightly to the inside of the fenders making it more narrow at ground level.

While I would prefer to use the 5x10 for pick up, I don't want to get there and have it not fit or require partial disassembly. This is an unmodified m416 that still has military 7.00x16 tires. I know the axle and tire width but have no idea about wheel offset or other compounding factors. With the original wheel set up, can anyone verify the exact width at the tires/wheels? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

So, here my best guess as it’s dark and snowing. Yes,snowing! I went out to the boneyard and my old axle measures 56”. The wheels are 3” from inside rim to outer tire edge ( if that makes sense). So the best I can come up with, while freezing my butt off in the dark, is a total outside axle/wheel width of 62”. Take that for what it’s worth.

Schematics I have say 61” fender to fender.

You could always pull the wheels and fenders.

Snow? That actually sounds nice. We are in the midst of an extended summer here in TN and still seeing temps in the middle to upper 80s with humidity that will melt you.
I appreciate you taking time to reply. So at 62" that is a no go on the 5x10. I despise relying on the need to take things apart because you just never know how willing these things are going to be. I have seen wheels seized to hubs, 214 coats of paint that practically welds the fenders to the trailer, etc... so out of an abundance of caution I have already loaded about every tool I own in the bed of the truck. I am still hoping to just be able to roll that bad boy right into my trailer and head home but I suspect Murphy's law may decide otherwise.
Either way, by noon today we will definitely know if a stock m416 trailer will fit on a 5x10 trailer. :)

So, for the sake of anyone else who may contemplate this issue. The outside measurement wheel to wheel is approximately 59 inches when running standard 7.00x16s. The tires rub the rails on a 5x10 trailer but the wheels do not. She loaded snugly on the 5x10 trailer. A few cargo straps for security and the 4 hour ride home was uneventful.
