Hey there. First post, please forgive any newbie missteps.
So I recently located a m416 trailer that I plan to build out. First things first, I have to go pick it up on Wednesday. It is a lengthy drive so I would like to haul it home on my trusty 5x10 trailer but I am not 100% certain it will fit, width wise.
I have reviewed the m416 schematics and see that fender to fender is 60.5 inches. The trailer I plan to haul with is precisely 60.125 inches rail to rail, so a bit narrow. However, I am guessing the tires on the m416 sit slightly to the inside of the fenders making it more narrow at ground level.
While I would prefer to use the 5x10 for pick up, I don't want to get there and have it not fit or require partial disassembly. This is an unmodified m416 that still has military 7.00x16 tires. I know the axle and tire width but have no idea about wheel offset or other compounding factors. With the original wheel set up, can anyone verify the exact width at the tires/wheels? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
