M923A2 Conversion Overland
18,500 Odometer / 1300 hours
1372 Miles: new engine (08/2022 - built for performance, $11,238). Absolutely no leaks. Open country, cruises at 60mph. Did not advance engine.
4209 Miles: transmission (10/2018 rebuilt and service 10/2022)
I have had my overland for 10 years, which has always been comfortable and dependable. This truck can be lived in comfortably full-time and/or travel long distances. This truck can conquer most backcountry roads to get you to those exotic places. It gets between 6 to 9 MPG and has a 48-gallon tank.
This overland expedition truck is designed for 4 people to live and explore but can be used as a work truck with office space.
The cabin of the truck has air-ride adjustable seats. In addition, it has a Red Dot air conditioner that does an excellent job of keeping the driver and passenger cool. Finally, you can seal the cabin off from the living space.
The living space has all the amenities, including two pull-out 12V cooler/freeze fridges (66qt/45qt), a kitchen area with sink, a 3 burner stove, and plenty of cabinet kitchen storage. The shower is a toilet/shower combination with plenty of space to shower. We currently have the dining seat and table but have not installed them, pending buyer approval of configuration or other configuration needs. There is a 110V air conditioner that does an excellent job of keeping the living area cool. In addition, there is a 10K heater that can be used for cold nights.
The rear bedroom holds a queen-size mattress and can be configured with cabinets (all cabinets have been premade and need to be installed, but again, the buyer can determine the configuration for installation). There is a 24V air conditioner that runs off solar and the truck 24V battery systems (can run upwards of 7 to 9 hours daily). This air conditioner does come with a low voltage switch to not run down the truck batteries. Additionally, it has a privacy curtain. Above the cabin is a twin bunk bed area with lighting, 110V and 12V plugs, and a privacy curtain.
The truck has a 12V 400-watt solar system with two 12V 200Ah Lithium LiFePO4 Deep Cycle Batteries and a 3000-watt inverter. Overland is designed for both shore and battery power. A smart charger is affixed, but not hooked up, to charge all systems when overland is on the road. There are four 110VAC plugs in the truck with USB and one 20AMP 110VAC plug outside. Overland has flood lighting on all sides of the exterior of the truck. They do a great job lighting up the area.
The overland carries 80 gallons of water, a 45-gallon gray tank, and a 30-gallon black tank. All plumbing and waste water are configured correctly for easy drain/disposal. Hot water is by demand so as to not waste water for showering and kitchen use.
The camper frame was built by a retired RV designer, and the structure is composed of 2" x2" x1/4" and 2" x2" x3/16" square tubing. The outer skin is a filon panel affixed to wood with foil. Insulation is R99. All this does a great job of keeping the cabin cool or warm and the noises out! ($32,290). The upper cabin overhang siding was replaced with 0.1" aluminum for better cooling and abuse with tree branches and the like.
Additional storage is by a door outside underneath the queen bed area. Access to the camper area is by 4 four foldable step stairs or through the cabin. Windows are one pane, but all our configurated for as emergency exits. Windows come with sun and night blinds.
As I mentioned in the description, the truck is in perfect condition and runs beautifully. It comes with essential spare parts (alternator, PCB box, belts, hoses, etc). The tooling for the truck to change tires, do repair work, and so forth is included. The dining area is not installed, but recut and ready for installation. Cabinets and storage areas for the rear bedroom are also completed. I can do the installation if you like the configurations. I decided not to install it because I wanted to make this truck a field office. Again, the buyer to make the final decision.
Lastly, I'm having a custom spare tire and motorcycle lift fabricated ($5,100), ready for installation in December 2023. It will mount on the truck's rear (see the attached picture of the other truck's lift). Comes with both pintle and slide in tow receiver.
Issues with overland; needs a paint job. The entry camper door could be replaced, but it works and locks. I had the axles serviced back in 2018, but they should be serviced again. U joints on drivelines need to be serviced.
Overland comes with a clean California title and passed two inspections by AAA and CHP when built back in 2012. Truck is located in Southern California, San Bernardino, CA.
Why I'm I getting rid of it? Kids have grown, the truck is becoming too much for me, and I want to go smaller.
I have over $85K invested in the overland. So I am asking $70K. Serious buyers only. For additional information, don't hesitate to contact me via email 19201jb gmail.com (add the @ to complete email).
