Made a front lic. plate holder over the weekend...

Since my tube bumper didn't have a mounting solution for my license plate, I finally got around to putting one together this past weekend.

The bumper's tube sections are 2" O.D. tubes so I simply used a couple of 2" dia. conduit clamps, 1/8" thick aluminum plate (6"x12"), & stainless steel hardware. Painted w an epoxy primer and hammer finish paint. Hardest part was waiting for the paint to dry LOL. Easy peasy as they say!:ylsmoke:

Dang, offroader. Your montero is epic.

BTW whats your wheels/tires setup?

Not sure I'd call it epic but I do enjoy how it's setup. Tires are 35x12.5/15 BFG MT KM2's. Wheels are 15x10's but I can't remember the brand/model although I just bought them in Jan from America's Tire. Was ~ $130 ea. IIRC.

I'll raise my hand and vote for removing the "Turn me over" sticker.... ridiculous! :sombrero:

Gotta love easy solutions to fix a problem. Did you ever have any issues with CAHP?

I like the sticker so it's staying.

Yes, the 5 oh have told me I need a front plate. Plus my neighbor is a sheriff and he said it's one of the easiest things they look for if they are seeking a reason to pull you over. That and the lack of mud flaps in back but I'm working on that too.:smiley_drive:

Goofy goofy goofy .... and tacky! Reminds me of something you'd put on a jeep.....:p

My wife's car is still officially registered (in my father in law's name) and inspected in Louisiana, but we live in Texas. There are no front plates in Louisiana and I hear all the time that we're going to get pulled over for not having a front plate. 3 years in Texas and still no problems. We did have one cop on a two lane country road suspiciously whip around one time and tail gated me for a mile or two before pulling off to the shoulder. The only thing that was suspect was that he didn't see a front plate and was going to stop me for that until he saw the LA plates. I appreciate cops, but sometimes I wish they had better things to do with their time on the clock...
