Maggiolina (Autohome) roof top tent on a Discovery?

I am tempted to purchase a Discovery II.
I am going to check it out later this week.

Has anyone seen a Discovery II with a Autohome Maggiolina roof top tent? I am thinking about the Airland or other model with the hard white shell.

Because of the angle in the roof I am not sure how well it would fit. It seems like there would be a huge air gap up front.

Does anyone have pictures of this setup?

thanks

I have a Disco II and did look at these tents but was a little concerned about a windy night and those flat sides? ANyone have any comments about this?

Wind & Maggiolinas

We frequently mount our Maggiolina Grand Tour (small) on our Tacoma DC. The bottom of the tent is about 6' from the ground and the top is close to 9' when erected. We've had it up in some strong winds that I would estimate were around 45 - 55 mph and it was very stable. The same winds were associated with rain and the tent remained completely dry inside.

The only conditions where I find the tent uncomfortable is hot rainy weather. When it rains you'll close up the openings and if its hot then you lack airflow to cool you. So far we've done OK by opening the downwind openings which don't get rain. However, we're planning on mounting 12v fans for next summer to provide more comfort during hot rainy nights.

I've been able to hang a water proof nylon tarp (4X8) over the Maggiolina ( using two rubber bungees, two poles and guy ropes to created a nice overhang. Keeping the door open for air during rains and allowing a place to come down the ladder when wet.

I've wondered about this myself. Being an east coaster, it's usually not a question of whether it will rain, but when. I like the Mag tents but wonder about ventilation in rain situation. Any other feedback? Anyone try the Mag awnings that attach to the tent?
