For Sale in Asheville, NC
Made in Italy by AutoHome, this is a top-of-the-line Maggiolina roof top tent—the Grand Tour. Medium size, with nice head space, comfortably sleeps 2 adults, could add one small kid. Each side has a screen door, and a solid canvas door, each end has the same in a triangular window for air circulation.
Constructed of marine quality fiberglass, laid up by hand in the AutoHome factory, and employs special impact resistant resins to assure long term durability.
The bottom shell of the Grand Tour is fiberglass with foam sandwich insulation, and is fitted with a removable, 3½” inch thick mattress. It’s durable, water and dust proof, and suitable for travel and camping in any weather.
Our Maggiolina is about 9 years old. Some years we hardly used it, but we went cross country twice with it and camped in all weather imaginable. There were a couple of nights the wind was so intense I was worried the tent would fly off our van, but it’s super solid and there were no problems. The canvas fabric, the heavy duty zippers, the stitching…everything is made to last. The hardware is top of the line: as far as I know, nothing is made in china, and the quality shows. You can get cheaper, lighter roof-top tents, but none are made as well as this, made to last!
We have Yakima extender bars that can go with this, included.
Exterior: 57″ x 83″ x 14″
Mattress: 54″ x 72″ x 3.2″
Height: 38″ (Mattress to ceiling-tallest)
Weight: 136 lbs.
(Purchase price new is $3,500)
Asking $2,000
