Making your own door trim - what material?

We want to make custom door trim for the rear doors on the Dormobile, trim with at least a map pocket in it, and perhaps a speaker housing. What material would you all suggest? Years ago on one of the customization shows on Speed Channel, they showed some sort of plastic that you could cut easily, and mold to shape with a heat gun, and it looked like OEM quality when they were finished. I have no idea what that stuff was or where to get it. So any suggestions are welcome.

I'm guessing that what you saw was ABS. It is the polymer of choice for thermo-vacuum molded parts. Like door panels, some product displays, etc. Very form-able with heat, though it will require a heat gun and not a hair dryer.
