Martinez Canyon (Florence AZ)

I thinking of heading up Martinez Canyon on Sat Jan 27th. Typically this is an all day trail. Not sure of current conditions, but generally the trail rates a 3.0, give or take 1/2 point. Old mining equipment, some shafts (commonly explored--but not really legal), and some of the best AZ scenery at the top.

Sliders seriously recommended, one locker real helpful. Basically this trail is usually at the high end of what a stock tacoma-ish vehicle can comfortably traverse (depending on driver skill of course).

Anyone interested?

We should see if Jim and Alan want to go...

Alice hasn't been back there yet and it is one of my favorite trails.

Who is Alan?....Jim is the guy across the street from you, right? Is Allen the guy from P'cott?

Yep...

so did you at least drive the Jeep to work yesterday or did you have to work your way home on the bike?

I've been driving the jeep all week. To damn cold + the threat of rain every day I worked....but I do have the bike put back together. Just waiting for the weather to cooperate.

Sean might bring his buggy out on Saturday....

Looking forward to a report on the condition of the trail. Haven't been out there in awhile and am heading out there on the 2/3 with some friends. Have fun!

So far, no one has committed to going...Sean and Dave backed out due to concerns with being off the trail in time for some previous committments...Kyle has yet to confirm, and everyone else is busy...so there may be no pics or trail reports!:littlefriend:

Sorry, Brian...me, too.
I am committed tomorrow.
Otherwise would have been fun...

Bummer. T'would be fun . . . and I think driving the "trail" to the mine is well beyond my skill so it would do me some good to give it a go. But it's time I did something that resembled the middle-class, living-in-a-stucco-home lifestyle that my family and friends think I have. Mow the lawn, wash the windows, vacuum, sweep the garage. Maybe even go to the mall. :safari-rig:
