Finding parts might be time consuming or expensive but they're definitly out there.
Who knows how much they actually had in common, but the German army and others had thousands of a 4x4 version with the same model designation.
Pretty good chance you could fix it, build a basic camper, drive it to central/south America and sell it at a profit.
Most of the M-B old straight trucks even as far north as Minnesota were bought up as they neared the end of their useful lives here and hauled off to Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Honduras. They'd piggyback two parts trucks on back of a running cab and chassis, somtimes flat towing a completely rusted out Toyota behind as well
I'd have bought it.
