MileMarker Scout winch

In the market for a new winch and looking at the MileMarkers. Yes I know they are made in China; so let's move on.

The Mike Marker Scout SEC8 comes with synthetic line, a reasonable weight and price. Search didn't yeild much for results.

Any input, thoughts, experience with it?

The milemarker I had on a previous truck was solid. Slow, but performed fine and seemed to be well built. Only issue was line speed as it was slow as a 3 legged turtle. Not an issue for me really, but something to consider. I have a warn hs9500 that I moved from an old jeep to my son's. It is my favorite and got me, and now him, out of some serious jams. That winch was in a vehicle fire and all I had to do was replace wire and solenoids - worked like new. That winch was submerged for 5-6 hours and still pulled my sons jeep out of the worst stuck I have dealt with in 20 years of wheeling. I have a superwinch s9000 on my current jeep and it is doing well, although looks like I need to replace a solenoid.

So, as it goes... the milemarker I had for a brief time (sold the truck) is the only winch I have not had to repair:coffeedrink:

from what i have read the Scout is faster than some of the older ones. The few reviews i found was decent. But unfortunately just not may of them...

The lack of responses and info must say SOMETHING about this unit. Not sure exactly what but if it were as good or better than similar units in it's class I'd think you could find more info. To me, the silence says a lot though.

I ended up getting a TJM 9500# with synthetic line. It should suit my needs just fine and comes with a separate battery disconnect switch.
