Military Lunette Thin Shaft

First of all, I am new to the forum, and have been reading many of your builds. I have to say, that some of the builds are incredible, and I am looking forward to eventually one day starting mine.

That being said, while doing some searches, I came across this. Can this possibly be right?? Is there something so special or rare about this particular piece that would warrant this price that somebody just has to have it?

The thin style lunette pictured was used on WWII 1/4 ton trailers (and some m100s). Anything WWII specific equals more money to collectors. The price is high but it's not super crazy.

Yeah, that looks stupid high to me. There are surplus dealers around that should have those.

EDIT... I just checked Midwest Military and they have the lunette for $185.

For someone who wants an original thin neck lunette that is not an outrageous amount. Yes, you can buy M416 style parts all day long from various sources and yes it will work on a T3. But if you're after an original part for a restoration then the thick neck parts aren't the ones you want on the trailer.
It all depends on what you're goal is.
