military S-171 electronics shelter info

Im wondering if anyone has a source for information on these little shelters? I picked one up about a year ago and have been using it as a camper here and there, now the wife and have decided to take it one step farther and make it capable of supporting us on long (2 to 3 weeks) trips.

I know what my plans are so far with it and will do a build thread once i get rolling but I am surprised that i am unable to find any info on these. I got it in trade from a friend who purchased three at once.

one particular piece of info I'm looking for is empty weight, I know its not much as four people can easily lift it into a truck, and I don't have the resources to weigh it.

here are some pics of the "dumpster" as my wife calls it. any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks! I have read both of these already, but thanks for your help. There is quite a difference between the S-171 and the S-250 in size and I think in vintage.

pretty sure the 250 is for the hummer and the M101A3 trailers.

the 171 is for a short bed chevy like the CUCV its only 6' long.

its similar but with a lot less room

I had one of the 250s and it was a hot box....couldnt cool it enough to camp in it in the summer.
