Moby question

There is a nice looking Moby for sale on this site that I have a question about (no affiliation). The owner says the doors need to be replaced because of leaking. The Moby comes with new doors that the company sent him. However, I have read (also on EP) of at least one guy who had major issues replacing his Moby doors. Is this a thing? Or can one comfortably buy this Moby expecting to install the doors without an issue. The price is good. https://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/moby-1-xtr-loaded-for-sale-22k.208773/

Thanks!

My guess is that if it was an easy fix, it would have already been done before it went up for sale. That way the seller would not have to post that the trailer has leaks. IMHO

I'd contact @VORSHEER and see if they can be of any assistance in case there are any problems. They're a new company that bought out all that was left of Moby, and they might have some guidance for you.

The old style doors are different sizes than the newer ones that were switched to. You will need to make the hole larger for the new door to fit. A router with a wooden template should to the trick.

Make sure you THOROUGHLY inspect the trailer. That is a very early Moby1, and none of us at VORSHEER had a hand in building it so we can't speak to how it was assembled.

Best of luck with your purchase! Any other questions just let us know.

@Carolina4x4 , also, keep in mind we have our Tier 1 XOC that starts at $19,999. We pre-wire it for later add-ons so you can always add more features later. The only two features that are more difficult after the build is the Air Conditioner ($899) and the roof rack ($1,499). Try to include those during the initial build. So for a similar price you could get a new trailer with all the upgraded suspension and new design. Our build times are just currently around 3 weeks.
