hey folks

planning a trip for mojave road March 14th meet at Baker CA at night for hotel stay. March 15 early am hit the trail running from west to east. We will be staying on trail Sat night and sunday night, returning off trail on monday. Then heading into Lake Mead area for monday night stay. Some may wish to depart at that time.

XJ Mike is joining me already. Invite to join us is open for up to 4 more vehicles. We would like to keep a fairly steady pace so a large group wont work for us. If alot of folks have interest perhaps we can break into a few groups at different speeds.

James....

Maybe I will bump into you along the way. We will be driving a Tundra with a 4WC on the top. Just a solo trip, but we will say hi if we see you.

It will be my first time primitive :camping: in about 12 years but it should rock with the new Kamparoo. :shakin: Been out in my buddies RV a number of times. We have been buying gear like crazy. :D

Hey James, funny you should ask. I was just looking into that last night and what I found was SCARY! :yikes:

Comments I found regarding what looks like the three in Baker ranged from, very rude to only stay in Baker if it is a life or death situation.

I think staying up at Primm (Stateline) at one of the three hotels would be a much better option. It's about a 45 minute drive down to Baker and depending on which point we want to start at, about 15-20 minutes further south from there. Since Primm has gas stations, we can fill up there and then do a quick top off at Baker.

From what I found last night, it looked like around $50 for a night at Primm. I am thinking Buffalo Bill's as they seems to have a few more favorable comments.

Thoughts??? :friday:

I've always stayed at the Primm Valley Resort when in the area & never in Baker. Was always good.

thanks, but im trying to stay in Baker because we are running the mojave road trail from west to east. so that seems to be the closest city to trailhead.
