I received my rtt tent today and Im ready to mount it on my trailer.
I have one question.
Is it possible to just mount the rtt to a supported piece of plywood on my trailer???? Just screw it right into the lid??? Thanks

I have the trailer done and there is a playwood lid on it. I am asking if I can just put the tent on the plywood lid and just use the holes that are predrilled and screw right into the plywood instead of using a rack to mount it.

I didn't use a rack to mount mine, but still used the aluminum channel that came with the tent.

the only issue i can see is with the fitting of the cover,
it is made to overhang the platform a bit the way the
zippers are placed...

I would also worry about water getting between the two and getting trapped. I would thing that you could mount it directly to the plywood, but I would want to put in some kind of space to give it some space to breathe.

Mounting them with four bolts through a plywood top working fine.

Way back I did one mounted directly to a plywood trailer box top without the mounting racks. It worked fine, although moist did get under it. Longterm the moist would cause rot problems. Now I always use the mounting tracks.
