Montero gen 2.5 with 3.5 = snow package?

I see some gen 2.5's that have a 3.5 motor - was that a separate option from the snow package, or that implies that it has the snow package (locker)?

Also seem some LS's (1996) with a 3.5, so the 3.5 was in more than just SR?

The standard engine starting in 1997 was the 3.5L SOHC engine. Headlight washers and heated seats imply the winter package.

That or the guy doesn't know what he has. 1996 LS should have a 24 valve 3.0L.

My 98 was originally from Puerto Rico and has the 3.0.
