I had a Mistsu dealer here in AZ tell me it was coming back next year it will be just what is available in the rest of the world.

Probably be what the Pathfinder has become and what the Land Cruiser is on its way to becoming, a bloated street machine good for dropping the kids off at school. This saddens me.

Luckily there's still the FJ, 80 series LC, LR, and Jeep for decent 4x4 alternatives. Nothing like my Mitsu but lets face it that ship has literally sailed for them.

The reality is, 99.999% of Mitsu's new car buyer market here in N.America will NEVER take their mitsu 4x4's off road so since they don't, why bother building it to those rigorous standards?

Good point off-roader....just like range rover and land rover. My neighbor has an 04 that he spent a lot of $$$ on lift, tires roof rack, winch etc etc and when it rains he pulls it into the garage...but hey it looks good lol!

I know of a guy like that, has a late model 100 series Land Cruiser, he's easily dropped well over $10,000 (USD) in high-end off road accessories into it, bull bar, winch, tires, rear bumper etc. I heard he took it off road once; got a few minor brush lines, took it to the paint shop and has never gone off the asphalt since.

Looking for that thing i just had in my hand...
I was told that Mitsubishi is going to one lineup globally to save money and that l200 production is moving to the Normal Illinois plant. the Large SUV they're expecting is likely the second Generation Montero sport. Which is fine by me, even though the sport is light duty in comparison to the REAL Montero (Gen 1 & 2) It still has a full frame and a rear solid axle so in my opinion it's more Montero than the Gen 3 unibody IFS/IRS junk.
