Mounting kammok ‘upside down’

Anyone have any experience mounting their kammok (or any awning) upside down/underneath their crossbars. My roof rack doesn’t not have t-tracks. They are just the older model aeroblades. I’m trying to find a way to mount my awning on the bottom of the bars without fabbing different brackets and/or mounting points.

It might be confusing for those without a kammok but the awning mounts to the towers via 2 bolts and a hook of sorts that goes over the top bolt. Originally I thought I could just mount the tower upside, however the hook will not fit on the top bolt of the tower and therefore will only have one bolt supporting the awning. See diagram below. Anyone have any insight, or experience mounting their kammok (or similiar) on the underside of the crossbars?
