Mounting Pelican Case to Hard top??

I really like the Grenadeacorp Sub Roof Concealed Locking Storage system, but I'm hesitant to send the $$ on it. Plus while it has to be removed with the hard top off, it doesn't come off with the hard top. Got me thinking about mounting a pelican case to the underside of the hard top. The Grenadeacorp system is 45.5x15"X5", luckily Pelican makes the IM3200 which is 47.20" x 16.50" x 6.70". They do have smaller versions if that is too big.

I'm thinking that 6 or 8 5/16" SS bolts with 1-1.5" SS washers through the hard top and the lid, plus weather sealant would provide a nice weatherproof alternative that comes off with the hard top.

My question is what's the best way to seal the bolts? I know people have passed bolts through the hard top with with racks and such. I'm not worried about the occasional water drop making its way into the Jeep, I just don't want a dribble when it rains.

Here is the Grenadeacorps system:

Pelican also has the IM3220 that is 3" deeper if you want more overhead storage space.

And The pelican iM2700 could work great above the passengers seat.

the Thule mounts I put on my fiberglass camper shell used a simple flat SS washer and flat rubber or neoprene washer on each side of the shell to seal the bolt penetrations. Worked fine, no leaks then when I removed them I fulled the holes with regular RTV

The Yakima rack kit comes with black RTV applied liberally around the bolt threads. Applied this way, I've not had any leaks. But that has only been one winter...

Another thought would be to build a hinged frame off the Sport cage, that has a slide locking feature for the pelican case.
This way the box could be loaded in the house, slid into place in the Jeep, and locked.
Built correctly, and it would only take one additional bow to use it with the soft top, or no top.

I like the idea but I am trying very hard to avoid drilling into my hardtop. Thats why I will end up with something like this in the rear of the Jeep.

That mounts to the roll bar of the jeep and still allows you to have space under it for a fridge, or other stuff. Its adjustable also. I think the price is a bit high for it but when I dont have to drill into my hardtop it seems worth it.
