hey all, well been back a week and haven't posted about the trip (thanks for the reminder john b :) )...i posted this under "completed adventures and events" because it was more of a road trip to see friends and family then an "expedition", but it was still a $%&# load of driving and camping. Just over 5600 mi in 27 days. started in mt. but camped in sd., oh., ny., nh., vt., and me. also spent some time in milwaukke, wi. and chicago, il. just missed the bridge collapse on the way to the east coast but ran right into the flooding on the way back...10 in. and hour in some places! the taco held up great as did the fwc...here are some pics...

going left to right...

1. camping on lake erie, riply, ny.
2. first taste of maine, hadn't seen rain in months!
3. camp outside bristol, vt.
4. lots of cool rigs on the road!
5. surfer's beach, lake erie...ohio!
6. sitting on the beach in maine, looking out at cape elizabeth.
7. impromptu tarp set up night before during a 10pm downpour!
8. ahh niagra falls...hardly anyone there :hehe: .
9. boating off the coast of portland, me.
10. maxin' relaxin'!

great way to see the country...love traveling with the fwc. gas prices were the worst in chicago and i got better mpg's the lower the speed limit got :) , sorry i took so long to post, thanks for everyones input along the way...now back to the real world.

john b, ended up spending most of our time in the portland area. my gf's family has property on an island off the coast and we spent most of our time there...no cars...or traffic! did some sailing, swimming, croquet, grilling, drinking, etc...and lots of reading. we just ended up not having enough time to make the tour north and with living 2500 mi from family our time with them was pretty limited. thanks a bunch for your tips though and they will be utilized on the next tour...did most of our biking was in WI and IL...i am pretty familiar with these zones...thanks again, cheers!

Welcome back erod!

Nice to see the FWC held up in the rain for you. Nights like that in camp are the reason I gravitated towards the FWC.

Quite the long haul, but it looks like you saw some beautiful places and got some chillin' time in to boot. Cool that the "kids" made the trip too and didn't get kennel'd while you were away.

BTW, I went up to Glacier while you were on the east coast. So we miss out on crossing paths yet again.....

Certainly understandable erod, i would have opted to spend the time with family as well considering the distance between you.

How does your schedule look for the next few weeks? Hoping we can get together for a few cold ones.
